In the summer of 2004, Gloria, Alan and Gloria's son Neal, toured China prior to Gloria starting a position teaching English in Jinan. Neal returned home after one week, and Alan returned on 7/13. Gloria will be teaching until September.

The tour started with 4 days in Shanghai, which included a one day trip to Suzhou, then we flew to Chongqing, where we cruised down the Yangze River, through the Three Gorges area, and ending up at Yichang, below the Three Gorges Dam. We then took the overnight train to Xi'an, where the highlight was seeing Emperor Que's terracotta army.

The trip finished with a flight to Jinan, and here we visited the temple of Confucious at Qufu.
